Hydrometers test the state of charge of a battery cell by measuring the specific gravity (density) of the electrolyte - the greater the concentration of sulfuric acid, the more dense the electrolyte becomes.
OTC's Professional Battery Hydrometer displays a batteries specific gravity (density) on an easy-to-read float with a scale ranging from 1.100 to 1.300.
Built in thermometer indicates what must be added or subtracted from the float reading to arrive at an accurate specific gravity reading for each battery cell.
Flexible rubber tip offers easy access to even hard to reach battery cells while the battery is still in the vehicle.
